mushroom, a truffled hut

The mushroom is the elf of plants,
At evening it is not;
At morning in a truffled hut
It stops upon a spot
 ~except of poem by Emily Dickenson

Definition of MUSHROOM

1a : an enlarged complex aboveground fleshy fruiting body of a fungus (as a basidiomycete) that consists typically of a stem bearing a pileus; especially : one that is edible

Definition of PILEUS

1[Latin] : a pointed or close-fitting cap worn by ancient Romans

2: the convex, concave, or flattened spore-bearing structure of some basidiomycetes that is attached superiorly to the stem and typically is expanded with gills or pores on the underside —called also cap.

I prefer to think of mushrooms in a more romantic sense, such as the phenomenom the Fairy Ring.  I noticed my mushrooms hadn't completed the ring, more like a Fairy Arc.
