Oh Christmas Tree

If you ask me a Christmas tree is the best memory keeper of all.  When I start hanging the ornaments the memories just start flooding in.
Next year when I hang this gorgeous purple present I will think of the wonderful dinner with family and friends we had this year. Thank you Gladys!
this one is just so silly.  It's my Sweetie all over!
This old fashioned Santa reminds me so much of my Grandparents.
And who's childhood wasn't completed by the Grinch?
Christmas should remind us to reach for the stars.

Can you believe this is December?

What an amazing day for a walk on the beach. It's hard to believe that its December 18th!
Clear usually comes with cold here, but not today.
I love the driftwood breakwater they've made to stop the debris from storms from piling up on the road.
And what walk isn't complete without a cute dog...
 and a duck......
and a rock....

clickin' happy in Picnik

Sweetie and I were out for an evening stroll and along the way I snapped a few pic's.  I love this old wagon at the base of my neighbors driveway.  The original photo below, well, it's not much to write home about!  But after clickin' away with Picnik the results are so rewarding!  No Way could I duplicate this though.  I didn't think to keep track of all the different options I layered on here.

Another neighbors little vignette.  Much prettier after some tweeking!

And the cute little driveway pumpkin suddenly becomes so much scarier!

But I don't have a cat!

Halloween Cat!  This little cutie has adopted us.  He's a keeper!
 Makes himself right at home.
How can we possibly resist that face?
This guy on the other hand won't let anyone near.
And this fellow just sits on the wood pile and watches us.
I am wondering... do cats know instinctively the people that love cats?
 Happy Budha loves the fall.
An attempt at a desk top calendar~ much fun!

September already

Another rainy day means time spent inside playing with my photos.  Love my little sand dollar mushroom.
Maybe when it stops raining I can give my little "found treasure" bench a nice coat of paint and a new seat..... or maybe it's dying to be a planter... hmmm
You know it's September when the crab apples are ready for picking.  These make lovely pink jelly.
And my first attempt at a desktop Calendar.  he he he

Heading home

Before we leave Seattle we take a quick stroll by the music project and this magnificent structure
Grab a coffee at the Starbucks in the corner.... and off we go.  It was quick but well worth the trip!
Here's a sight very familiar to us islanders.  One of the hundreds of tiny little islands we wind through and around on the ferry trip home.
I'm not sure what island this is but it's so very different from our own lush green one!
While we were gone our neighbors had puppies!  Meet Angus and Aiden.  Wow!

Seattle, day two

Day two, beautiful weather! We walked over to the Space Needle and caught the monorail to Westlake Center.  From there, a short walk straight down Pine Street brought us to Pike Place Market.
The first thing I noticed, besides the crowds of people were the gorgeous flowers.
Every size, color and type imaginable.  Wow!
Sweetie immediately noticed the lobster tails.  If only we could bring some home....
The corner market and lots of people....
Sweetie didn't make it past the cannoli's!
Some underground magic (not really under ground, just the floor below..)  Love the posters!
Across the street we found an Olive Oil sampling shop.  Now we're talking!
And a wine shop.  Hand harvested, family owned.  That's something to dream about.
The fresh chili's were hanging from the rafters...
Even the dried ones were so colorful.
And the bottled chili's.  Too many to count!
Let's not forget the coffee, this is Seattle after all.  Love the packaging.
We had lunch at the smallest little restaurant, 5 seats on each side I think.  BEST halibut wrap ever!
And here is gum alley.  Really?
Then as we headed towards the water front we past this amazing metal sculpture fence.  It's been a great day so far.
